Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

²⁵ “‘I will make a covenant^(A) of peace^(B) with them and rid the land of savage beasts^(C) so that they may live in the wilderness and sleep in the forests in safety.^{(D) 26} I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing.^[a](E) I will send down showers in season;^(F) there will be showers of blessing.^{(G) 27} The trees will yield their fruit^(H) and the ground will yield its crops;^(I) the people will be secure^(J) in their land. They will know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke^(K) and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.^{(L) 28} They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety,^(M) and no one will make them afraid.^{(N) 29} I will provide for them a land renowned^(O) for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine^(P) in the land or bear the scorn^(Q) of the nations.^{(R) 30} Then they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the Israelites, are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.^{(S) 31} You are my sheep,^(T) the sheep of my pasture,^(U) and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

Jesus’ Mother and Brothers^(A)

⁴⁶ While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother^(B) and brothers^(C) stood outside, wanting to speak to him. ⁴⁷ Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”

⁴⁸ He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” ⁴⁹ Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. ⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven^(D) is my brother and sister and mother.”
